
History
The Metropolitan Karate Academy was established in 1988 by Master Curtis Butler Jr., who at the time was a 3rd Degree Black Belt. The MKA has produced over 50 Black Belts, and has trained hundreds of young people and adults.
More Than Just a Karate School
MKA teaches North American Freestyle Karate and Tang Soo Do, which consists of traditional karate, sport karate, and self defense. These three elements blend to produce a well rounded martial artist.

Teaching the importance of discipline, integrity, and teamwork have developed dozens of blackbelts and martial arts champions. Combined Over 45 Years of Martial Arts Experience has helped people of all backgrounds acheive their goals of physical fitness, self-confidence, and the true meaning of being an honorable martial artist.
Master Curtis ButlerJr.
Is the founder, Prsident and Head Instructor of the MKA. He is a 5th Degree Black Belt with over 25 years experience teaching karate. Butler has won numerous sparring and forms competitions throughout the USA. He founded the MKA in 1988.
Master Perry Wilson
Mr. Wilson is a 4th Degree Black Belt with over 20 years of experience in Karate. Mr. Wilson is an excellent instructor and specializes in Cardio-Kickboxing and Karate Aerobics.
